    Abigail Pfiester Rue, a Full Professor and Director at Concordia University Texas, Austin, with 15 years of experience. She's the founder of Abico Consulting, serving central Texas through communication projects. Abigail, raised in Midland and Georgetown, Texas, holds degrees from Baylor, Cornell, and the University of Texas. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband, three boys, and several pets.

  • LIZ ROGERS (Joan)

    Liz Rogers retired from the Federal Public Defenders office in 2013, after almost 30 years in federal courts on the border in West Texas. She has been in private practice, continuing to do criminal defense work, since then. She is proud of her Brite Ranch Herefords that she looks after, with her partners, Will & Peyton Hughes, on her family's Brewster County place. And she travels the world.

  • MODESTA WILLIAMS (Augusta)

    Modesta Williams, a mother, businesswoman, rancher, and avid big game hunter, shared a cherished 55-year marriage with Clayton W. Williams, Jr., until his passing in 2020. They have 5 children, 9 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Modesta, hailing from a Texas ranching background, holds Super Slam Award distinctions for hunting 12 wild sheep species, and two world records. She's been active in board service, contributing to organizations like the United Way and Midland College Foundation.

  • CHICORA "CHIM" WELBORN (Cass)

    Chim Welborn resides in Midland, Texas, with her husband, Greg, and their children, Hyson and Modesta. She's the founder and Board President of Midland's Starlight Therapeutic Riding Center and owner of the Williams Equestrian Center, passionately contributing to both her community and the equestrian world.

  • BRENDA KLEIN (Miranda)

    Brenda, raised on a Fredericksburg farm, adopted her sister's love for horses. Her journey included high school and college basketball, and then marrying her high school sweetheart, Walter. Transitioning from coaching to a stay-at-home mom, they settled on a West Texas Ranch near Marfa in 2004. Amid ranch challenges, Brenda's profound joy is raising her three sons, now grown cowboys, and crafting an extraordinary life.

  • RENEE KAUFFMAN (Harper)

    Renée is a proud mother of 3 children (soon to be 4!) with her on screen crush "Westin" aka Judson Kauffman, and works as an actor and fitness trainer in Austin, Texas. What a thrill it has been to tag along with such a dynamic, heroic group of women in Ten in Texas!

  • THERESA CHAMBERS STOLTE (Pearl)

    A "Far West Texas" native, Theresa learned the ropes of ranching life on her family ranch. Proud mother of Brent Waldrep and Brandy Chase, with two fantastic grandchildren, Tyler and Natalie. Theresa retired after teaching along the Texas border, except for 5 years in Bastrop, TX. Her roots run deep in Presidio and Brewster County, and her greatest treasures are the wonderful and adventurous people in her life.

  • SUSAN COMBS (Helen)

    Susan Combs is a seasoned executive with 16 years of leadership in Texas and nearly three years at the U.S. Department of the Interior. She's a champion of property rights, efficient government, and education. Presently, she's a privacy advocate and an Ambassador for the Women's Suffrage National Monument Foundation. She is the manager and owner of a more than 140 year old family ranching, hunting and grazing management operation in West Texas.

  • ANNE CALAWAY (Loretta)

    Born and raised in Big Lake, Texas, Anne Calaway grew up on her family ranch. She earned a B.S. and M.S. in Speech Pathology from SMU before moving to Alpine in 1980, where she has managed her family’s Brewster County ranch for over 40 years. From 1984 to 2000, she owned and operated the Big Bend Locker Plant and Smokehouse. Today, Anne is the proud owner of Front Street Books, the best independent bookstore west of the Pecos. She continues to call her family ranch home, where her roots and entrepreneurial spirit thrive.

  • PATTI COLBERT (Hallie)

    Patti Colbert’s career centers around the horse industry. Raised by Roy Rogers and Dale Evans on Saturday mornings, she pursued her dream of working with and for horses. A recipient of National Cowgirl Hall of Fame Fern Sawyer Award and a Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame inductee, Patti has spent a lifetime connecting people with horses.

  • LILIA FALCON (Josefina)

    Born in Marathon, Texas, and raised in Boquillas, Mexico, and Fort Stockton, TX, Lila Falcon overcame family challenges post her father's wheelchair accident. At 18, she moved to Dodge City, Kansas, pursuing education and work. In 2002, Lila married, relocated to Atlanta, and joyfully returned to Boquillas in 2013. With husband Bernado, the town's mayor, they manage José Falcon's Mexican Restaurant, continuing her parents' legacy. They are proud parents of two beautiful daughters.

  • DR. DAVE ROMINE (Dr. Dave)

    Retired US Army Colonel, Dr. Dave Romine, is a triple-board-certified flight surgeon who has completed multiple combat tours in lots of hot, dusty places. Previously, Dave was a small-town doctor in the remote and medically underserved Mississippi Delta. Now based in Texas and Mexico, he travels widely, supporting church and humanitarian missions across the globe.

  • LEONEL RODRIGUEZ (Sheriff Leonel)

    Leonel Rodriguez, born in South Texas and raised on a large Oklahoma ranch, began his cinematic journey in 1988 with Rambo III. Over 35 years, he showcased his versatile skills in films like Geronimo: An American Legend, True Grit, The Alamo, Far and Away, The Magnificent Seven, The Postman, All the Pretty Horses, and numerous TV commercials. From acting to stunts and horse wrangling, Rodriguez has left his mark. He and his wife, Paula, call Alpine, Texas, home.

  • JUDSON KAUFFMAN (Westin)

    Judson Kauffman is a 6th generation Texan, entrepreneur, Navy veteran, and grateful father of four.

  • WALTER KLEIN (Kenneth)

    Walter spent his childhood running in the woods surrounding his neighborhood in Oakridge, TX, and the rolling hills of his grandparents’ ranches in the Hill Country. He tried several occupations before riding his first horse and falling in love with Far West Texas. Working the land horseback with family is his greatest joy.

  • JAMES RAMIREZ (Oscar - Deputy Sheriff)

    James Ramirez, born and raised in Alpine, TX, has spent over 40 years on the Williams Ranch. His parents, Guadalupe "Chappo" and Josie Ramirez, worked for the Clayton Williams family, who became like family to them. James graduated in 1985, earned a Bachelor of Science from Sul Ross State University, and honed various skills in ranching, including road building, cow and calf raising, and ranch management. Blessed with a son, Marcus, born in 2008, James is grateful to see him carrying on the legacy on the beautiful Williams Ranch trails.

  • OMAR C. HOLGUIN (Omar - Deputy Sheriff)

    Hailing from Chihuahua, Mexico, Omar C. Holguin is a devoted law enforcement officer. With four years at the Presidio County Sheriff's Office and an impressive 14-year commitment to the Brewster County Sheriff's Office, he embodies dedication. In addition to his service, Omar is a family man, married to Lori, and proud father to daughters Jacy and Olry, and sons Luke and Jace.

  • CLIFFORD HARDWICK (Tullis)

    Born in Pecos, Texas during WWII, Clifford Hardwick's journey began with his parents' unexpected meeting in the Big Bend. A Midland High School graduate, he forged a lasting bond with producer Sam Pfiester at Austin College. Marrying the precious Melinda, Clifford earned a BBA from the University of Texas and practiced law in Odessa and Midland for over three decades. Later, he taught government at Permian High School until retiring in 2014. Clifford and Melinda were proud parents of Shaun, Heather, and Mark.

  • REBECCA KAUFFMAN PFIESTER (Sarabeth)

    Rebecca Kauffman Pfiester has had a blessed life beginning on her family's heritage farm/ranch west of Georgetown, Texas. She met Sam, the film's creator-writer-producer, while teaching English in Hawaii. Their marriage was another blessing. Three children, their spouses and seven grandchildren complete the family. Along with reading an excellent book (WWII is a current favorite topic), she enjoys seeing excellent movies. She hopes you find "Ten in Texas" inspiring and fun.

  • MARCOS PAREDES (Mateo)

    Marcos Paredes, owner of Rio Aviation Inc., is a former river guide and retired National Park Ranger. His extensive “boots on the ground” knowledge, coupled with a birds eye view from his airplane is a truly enlightening experience.

  • ERICA CHAVEZ (Sheriff's Assistant)

    Born in San Diego, California, Erica Chavez spent her formative years dedicating time to volunteering at the local church and community. After graduating high school, she joined the US Army Reserves as a Medical Specialist. Now residing in West Texas with her family, Erica's selfless devotion enables her to continue making a positive impact by helping others.
